We're now present and correct at the first day of May 2017's MCM London Comic Con, and at the forefront of all of the anime-related news coming from the show is Anime Limited, who showed off a number of new theatrical titles at their booth while also hosting a midday panel on the show floor.
Let's start by taking a look at the distributor's theatrical slate for the remainder of the year, which has now been confirmed by the company:
Wednesday, 12th July - Genocidal Organ
Wednesday, 16th August - Napping Princess
Wednesday, 23rd August - Your Name (IMAX screenings)
Wednesday, 20th September 2017 - The Night is Short Walk On, Girl
Tuesday, 31st October - Perfect Blue
Wednesday, 6th December - Lu Over the Wall
SHAFT's theatrical film adapting Shunji Iwai's Fireworks has also been confirmed for a UK theatrical release at an unconfirmed date later this year.
Following on from the recent digital download to own release of A Silent Voice, the distributor has confirmed that Miss Hokusai will be released on iTunes, where it will be available to purchase from 26th June 2017.
As confirmed yesterday, Makoto Shinkai's Your Name will be returning to UK cinemas on 23rd August, including IMAX screenings. The IMAX screenings of the film have been confirmed to be in Japanese with English subtitles at the time of writing, while the standard screenings should be a mix of subtitled and English dubbed.
There's currently no news on a home video release of Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale - the suspicion is that this will be a 2018 release. There's also no word of the possibility of English dubbed screenings of the film in cinemas.
Simlarly, there's no news on a home video release of Your Name - the distributor will share any information as soon as they hear it.
There's no confirmed release date or details for ERASED's UK home video release at this time, as it's still awaiting approvals. More details may surface around this release later in the weekend.
Death Parade's UK home video release is likely to arrive in Q4, but that isn't fully confirmed at this time.
As part of a question and answer segment, a question was asked as to the future of Anime Limited's relationship with Funimation in light of Universal Pictures' release of My Hero Academia on home video. In response, it was noted that Anime Limited "already have a lot of Funimation titles locked in".
A question was also asked about the possibility of theatrical screenings for the Black Butler anime movie - there's no news on any chance of this at the time of writing.
Finally, Anime Limited Marketing Executive Jeremy Graves confirmed that he likes pineapple on pizza. The UK Anime Network apologies for any offence caused by this statement.
